Be Careful with your credit during processing of mortgage

We have had a rash of things go sideways lately for people who have purchased a home and are waiting to close. This is a critical time in the mortgage business and there are a few mistakes to avoid that could lead to disaster. We pull your credit at the start and base the approval on that credit report. In today’s market, the lender repulls the credit right before closing to make sure nothing has changed. Resist the urge to buy things for your new home until after closing !! Don’t even let anyone LOOK AT your credit until you have closed !! That creates an inquiry and it will have to be explained. Don’t buy a car, don’t increase your credit levels from the application !!! Your credit needs to look the same as when we pulled it on day one or you will be subject to a credit review ( which could slow down or postpone your closing). This will make your life much easier and your closing much smoother, which is what we all want for you !!!
